Today we wished an amazing General Die Casters team member farewell and good luck on their retirement. Witold Trzeciak anchored our set-up team on 3rd shift for the last 11 years. Before GDC he worked at another die casting company for an additional 25 years. According to his wife, In those 36 years, he never missed a day of work and was only late twice. (One was for the birth of his youngest son.) Even though he was triple the age of some of his counterparts, he always accomplished more than anyone else. And it was always done right. He was an incredible role model for our younger generation by being reliable, responsible, and taking great pride in his work.

His wife, two sons and daughters-in-law joined us for the celebration, and they even brought an amazing collage with pictures of Witold back to childhood.

This moment reminded me of a recent conversation I had with my father reflecting on his 40-year career in die casting. He said it’s not his business achievements that he is most proud of. It’s knowing that he had a positive impact on a lot of people’s lives. Our celebration with Witold and his amazing family cemented this idea. We all want our business to be successful, but that success is empty if we don’t take care of our team and their families.

Good luck to you Witold. You will be missed. After spending a short time with your wonderful family, I know you are in great hands.
